We are there for you

Being a foster carer is rewarding yet challenging. Remember you are not alone. We understand that to provide top-level security and stability for your foster child, you need to be fully supported by your agency. Fusion Fostering always include our foster carers as a valuable member of the Fusion team – caring for your future in the same way we care for our young people.

We have flexible and creative support arrangements available for our foster carers. Identifying and arranging the necessary level of support occurs when a child / young person and foster family are ‘matched’ at the placement planning stage. At this point, we can assess the individual needs of the family and decide on a support plan that suits you. The support is then monitored and adjusted throughout the placement as required. We are here to listen to and help you every step of the way.

Fusion Fostering offers the following support to foster carers:

Access to an experienced senior member of the Fusion Fostering staff team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Supervision and guidance from a qualified and suitably experienced Fusion Fostering Senior Support Worker or qualified Supervising Social Worker on a monthly basis or as otherwise determined by the needs of the child and foster carer.
Regular telephone contact from a Support Worker / Supervising Social Worker which is determined by the child in placement or the needs of the foster carer.
Meeting with carer support groups.
Regular training delivered to ensure all of our carers have the appropriate skills to meet the demands of the role.
A minimum of two unannounced visits are undertaken each year by a member of the Fostering Service.
The service pays for each set of carers to have a subscription to Foster Talk, offering an opportunity to seek advice / guidance.
The caseload of the Supervising Social Worker is a ratio of maximum 1:10 offering high levels of consistent advice and help.
The organisation has Public Liability Insurance, covering carers within their work.
14 days paid annual leave per year (accrued whilst child is placed).
